In the news today . . . a-holes and bigger a-holes. Read that second article, seriously:  "... unveiled decades of cover-ups of abuse involving tens of thousands of Irish children since the 1930s." Same outfit that waited until 1965 to eliminate phrases like "perfidious Jews" from the liturgy, and until 1998 to denounce the Holocaust.

But I've buried the real lede, which is Big D having a fever and a big case of The Grouch. Poor baby fell asleep on my lap while I rubbed his head and did a late afternoon conference call. Then this, at bedtime:

Mama: Your skin hurts, doesn't it, my baby?
D: (nods)
Mama: I can tell. Do you want some Ty-ty (tylenol)?
D: No, ey-boo (ibuprofin)
Mama: <note to self: do not tell anybody this story>
